The Bible states there will be no sickness and disease in heaven. The Bible also states that it is God’s will that heaven is brought to earth, so we can expect and experience pre-heaven benefits (healing) now here on earth!
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10 NKJV)
Sickness is from the devil. Jesus went about doing good and healing everyone. Jesus’ mission was to destroy the works of the devil (i.e., sin, sickness, and death).
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38 NKJV)
“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. (1 John 3:8 NIV)
God’s Word is medicine to one’s entire body. So, be sure to take the “gos-pill” daily for healing and health.
“He sent His word and healed them.” (Psalm 107:20 NKJV)
“My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 AMP)
Some people have been taught that God gives us sickness. If a person really believed that God gave them their sickness, then it would be inconsistent and wrong for them to go to the doctor, to take medicine, and to have surgery to get out of God’s will. That of course is ridiculous. Sickness is caused from sin, the devil, and/or our fallen world. God is our healer (Jehovah Rapha).
“Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:2-3 NIV)
“When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.” (Matthew 8:1-3 NIV)
“I am the LORD, who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26 NIV)
Healing is part of God’s redemption plan. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross provided not only forgiveness of sins but also healing for our physical bodies. Through His stripes, we are made whole—spirit, soul, and body. Healing is not just a gift; it’s a promise secured by the blood of Jesus.
“Yet he himself bore our sicknesses, and carried our pains; but we in turn regarded him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:4 CSB)
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NKJV)
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead brings life to your body.
The Holy Spirit’s power is alive within you, quickening and revitalizing your physical body. You carry resurrection power inside of you—a constant source of strength and healing.
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11 NKJV)
God’s name declares His character—He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.
When God revealed Himself to Israel, He declared His name as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. Healing is not just something God does—it’s who He is. Trust in His unchanging nature and covenant to heal His people.
“For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26 NKJV)
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV)
Speak life over your body.
Your words hold creative power. Align your confession with God’s promises and declare healing over your body. Speak words of life, not death, and watch His Word work in you.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV)
“Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” (Joel 3:10 NKJV)
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” (Psalm 103:2-3 NKJV)
“And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.” (Matthew 12:15 NKJV)
“For there is no partiality with God.” (Romans 2:11 NKJV)
Healing flows from a heart of forgiveness.
Unforgiveness can block the flow of God’s healing power in your life. When we choose to forgive others as God has forgiven us, we open the door for healing and restoration to take place in our bodies and souls.
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25 NKJV)
Praise and gratitude create an atmosphere for healing.
When we praise God and give thanks, even in the midst of challenges, we shift our focus from the problem to the Healer. Praise is a powerful weapon that brings His presence into our lives and sets the stage for miracles.
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” (Psalm 100:4 NIV)
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22 NIV)
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6 NKJV)
God’s Word is spiritual medicine that brings healing to our whole being.
Just as physical medicine must be taken consistently to work effectively, God’s Word needs to be “taken” daily to nourish our spirit, soul, and body. Meditating on and speaking His Word releases its healing power, restoring health and wholeness to every part of our being. Make His Word your daily prescription for divine health.
“My son, pay attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV)
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV)
